The Church of the Ascension offers Christian education for both children and adults. For children ages three through middle school there is Church School on Sunday mornings. While children attend Church School during the mid-morning service, they receive a break to take communion with their parents in the sanctuary before returning to their classes. High School age children attend services with their families and meet for Church School after the service. Both high school and younger children are involved in worship as members of the choir of acolytes. Planning, support and teaching for Church School is done by volunteers from the parish.
Adult Christian education at Ascension focuses on a weekly Bible Study held during the week, often in the evening. This program has traditionally been directed and taught by the clergy and is their opportunity to teach the parish outside of the standard Sunday service fomat.
In addition to the regularly scheduled Church School and Bible Study programs,
the parish offers other opportunities for Christian education. There are topic-specific programs with speakers during Lent and parish groups such as ECW and the Brotherhood of St Andrews often host speakers and conduct study at their meetings
